Clinker donates to open source projects

You all know that Clinker is fully based on opensource projects, that we collaborate with those projects as much as we can and that even we lead some of them, like Sonar PDF Report Plugin or Opina.

Opina

Although klicap is a very young company, we have been collaborating in opensource projects for a long time. We are very proud of Opina, a web surveys manager that we started building +7 years ago, which is now in version 2.4 with lots of features and used by a variety of customers, from universities to companies in the tourism sector. Opina is written in Java based on a number of opensource frameworks and libraries and freely distributed under GPLv2 license.

Sonar PDF Report Plugin

Sonar is an awesome tool to collect metrics about your software, but we detected almost 5 years ago the need to show the relevant metrics in a clean and customizable report, so we created Sonar PDF Report Plugin. Currently we are offering this plugin both as opensource (with GNU LGPLv3 license) and as an Enterprise version (included in our advanced plans for Clinker Cloud).

Stractistics Trac Plugin

Trac is another opensource included in Clinker and, again, we detected the need to monitor the activity in the projects using Trac, so we created a new plugin for Trac called Stratistics. Very useful in retrospectives if you want to introduce good habits in your team like frequent commits or document manual procedures in your wiki.

CMIS Trac Plugin

CMIS is an open standard that defines an abstraction layer for controlling ECM systems, like Alfresco, using web protocols. Clinker includes Alfresco and Trac, so we decided to develop another plugin to connect both using CMIS with the added benefit that you can choose using any other ECM implementing CMIS, like Documentum, Nuxeo…

With CMIS Trac Plugin you can browse all your documents in Alfresco from your Trac’s Documents tab, so you can have all your manuals, guides, wireframes, etc in Alfresco instead of your SCM. Powerful, isn’t it?

Contributions

Of course, we also contribute helping as much as we can in the communities supporting all the opensource software we use everyday, like Jenkins, Sonar, etc. But because we are a small and young company and know how difficult are the beginnings, we also wanted to contribute with new opensource projects like Pangool with a Clinker Cloud instance and our experience.

And now even more!

If you contract Clinker Cloud Dodecaedro or bigger, we will donate 1 € every month your instance is running to an opensource project and list all the contributions every quarter in this blog as a way to also say thank you.
